Last night in downtown Chicago there was more happiness in one place than I have ever seen anywhere. It was beautiful.

I started a mob last night. Results came in at 10:00om here in Madison, and jealous that I couldn't be at home in Chicago, I ran outside and started screaming at everyone I passed. Only Amanda and two or three kids I didn't know thought this was a good idea, until inexplicably, people who saw us through their windows came out onto the street. Then we were fifty, and we marched up to the capital building screaming and high-fiving. From (Madison) capitol hill we looked down state street and saw that hundreds of others were joining us. We were stopping traffic. Then we were thousands. We stormed around campus until 2 in the morning. The end count in the papers said three thousand people. Probably one of the coolest things I've ever done. I mean... it doesn't hold a candle to the 500,000 I joined in the immigration protests at home... but those were organized marches. This was a mob. And it was a mob of celebration. And Amanda and I (and the three kids who's names I don't remember) started it.

But anyway, Jonah, how are you? I feel like I haven't kept up with everyone as well as last year (swamped by environmental justice etc., as always).
